Job Description:
Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for quoting, designing and implementing new
solutions and/or process systems in a variety of environments and applications. Candidate will also
act as a diagnostician while maintaining or servicing existing equipment.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Primarily responsible for design, development, and installation of PLC based automation and
process control systems.
Diagnose and implement innovative solutions to a wide variety of application challenges.
Ability to specify, submit and configure instrumentation on the job site.
Mentor other engineers on staff and assist with their projects.
Lead efforts for the remediation, migration or upgrade of existing systems.
Diagnose and coordinate/implement repairs on existing equipment.
Requirements:
While we do not require any specific experience level and/or educational level, please note that this
is a senior level position, so proven relevant experience is vital.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline is desirable.
Ten (10) years engineering or other relevant experience is desirable.
Desired Hard Skill Sets:
Proficient in the ability to take a job from the quoting & design phase all the way through to
implementation.
Proficient knowledge of Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLCs (CompactLogix, ControlLogix, PLC 5, SLC
500)
Proficient with Rockwell Software (Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500).
Proficient knowledge of HMI/SCADA platforms (FT View ME, SE and Historian, iFIX/FIX32,
Wonderware and Ignition ).
Proficient knowledge of AutoCad (2017 and above).
Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks Mechanical/Electrical (2018 and above).
Experience with DeviceNet, AS-i or other Distributed I/O Control Systems.
Knowledge of Siemens PLCs.
Exposure to control systems validation within regulated FDA environment.
Comprehensive understanding of process control systems and related documentation (e.g. P&ID’s,
Requirements, Design).
Desired Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in troubleshooting of process control
systems within varying manufacturing site processes.
Knowledge of working in and around the food and beverage industries and following the standards
for SQF and GMP
Comfortable with 24/7 manufacturing environment, automation department.
Deals well with uncertainty and pressure.
Works well with others, within a team and takes accountability.
Result driven and self-motivated.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and presentation).
Organized, with strong computer literacy such as MS Project, Excel, etc.
Salary and Benefits:
Hourly DOE. Up to $45 hourly wage depending on leadership ability, Industry knowledge and work
experience.
Competitive benefits and 401k Package available.
2 Weeks’ Vacation per year.
